Our Strategy
Sucampo is focused on leveraging its prostone technology to develop and commercialize novel pharmaceutical products to treat unmet medical needs, particularly those diseases affecting an aging population. Our strategy to achieve that goal includes:
- Focus on the commercial sales of AMITIZA in the United States for the treatment of chronic idiopathic constipation in adults.
- Develop AMITIZA for the treatment of additional indications and discover, develop and commercialize other prostone product candidates.
- Target large and underserved markets, with a particular focus on treating indications in the elderly population.
- Seek marketing approval for AMITIZA and our other product candidates outside the United States.
- Focus on our core discovery, clinical development and commercialization activities.
- Grow through strategic acquisitions and in-licensing opportunities
